Down your street – Surbiton/Tolworth Borders

Updates from your Surbiton Hill Councillors.

It is just over a year since we won this ward from the Conservatives – traditionally one of their strongholds.

Since then, it has been a pleasure to meet residents and hear about local issues – quite a lot of which should have been tackled long beforehand. We will continue to call on every house to hear your views.

School Lane – Pushed for vital repairs to the spiral staircase, work is now commencing.

Worthington Road – Cleared rubbish left at rear of Ewell Road shops/flats.  Landfill bin issued and officers asked to call on flat dwellers to try and establish better practices.

School Lane – Meetings continue with Housing Dept to get communal windows replaced.

Langley ‘5 way junction’ – Supported Star and Garter Homes as the welcome future occupant of the proposed development after Sunrise homes pulled out.

School Lane – Progressing plans to introduce zig-zag ‘no stopping’ markings next to Tolworth Infancts and the new Children’s Centre entrances.

Tolworth Park Road – After meeting with residents concerned about the 20mph speed limit not being observed, a speed survey was commissioned. We will let you know the results.

Kingsdowne Road – Results of the speed survey in this road are being analysed and will be circulated soon.

Bond Road – The improved restrictions and road markings at the junction with Tolworth Park Road have certainly made a difference and discourage parking on corners.

Thornhill Road – The stretch between Bond Road and Red Lion Road is being resurfaced at the end of August.

Malvern Rd / Cotterill Rd – The top ends of Malvern Road and Cotterill Road have recently been resurfaced and other smaller potholes filled.

School Lane – We are investigating possible improvements. A proposal is being developed to introduce zig-zag ‘no stopping’ restrictions along School Lane outside the Tolworth Infant and Children’s Centre entrances.
